
Sojourn Gudorf Johnston
Sojourn Gudorf Johnston is from Craftsbury, VT. She began her dance training in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and hip hop at age 5. In 2014, she moved to Boston to train under the direction of Alexandra Koltun and Alex Lapshin. She competed at Youth America Grand Prix, winning 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place awards in classical ballet, top 12 in contemporary, competed in the final round at the YAGP European Finals (Paris), and competed in the New York Finals. Throughout the summers, she trained with American Ballet Theatre NYC, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Koltun Ballet Boston, and Paris Opera Ballet, and trained on merit scholarships with Bolshoi Ballet NYC, Boston Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, and Joffrey Musical Theater. Sojourn graduated from English National Ballet School’s three-year Trainee Program, in 2021, receiving a Diploma in Professional Dance and an associate degree in Professional Dance from Trinity College London. She was a Company Artist with Confluence Ballet Company in 2021.
Sojourn has worked with renowned choreographers, including Ruth Brill, Noah Gelber, Alex Lapshin, Andrew McNicol, Garen Scribner, Didy Veldman, and Durante Verzola. She has performed soloist roles from full-length ballets such as: Coppelia, Le Corsaire, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, and Les Rendezvous, amongst other ballets and contemporary works. Sojourn is excited for her first season with Ballet Frontier.
