Michael Ruiz

Michael Ruiz brings over 20 years of technical experience in the entertainment industry to Ballet Frontier. He began his career at Casa Mañana in Fort Worth, TX under the mentorship of Russell Hicks.  In 2005, he joined Texas Ballet Theater as Assistant Prop Master where he met and worked alongside Enrica and Chung-Lin Tseng. Later promoted to Master Carpenter, his favorite ballets to oversee included Ben Stevenson’s Four Last Songs, Swan Lake, Peer Gynt, The Nutcracker, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Dracula, Romeo and Juliet, Alice in Wonderland, Don Quixote, and Image, to name a few.

 

Taking a break from the stage, he pursued a career in corporate, arena, and stadium rigging endeavors across the US where he earned multiple industry certifications.

 

Michael is a proud member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 126 and is well-known in the Fort Worth area, having worked for many local arts organizations.  He is excited to join Ballet Frontier as Technical Director and is looking forward to the many challenges and opportunities ahead!
