Shiori Ohama
Shiori Ohama was born in Okinawa, Japan. She began her ballet training with Ms. Sayo Nagasaki at NS Ballet Academy. In 2018, Ms. Ohama placed in the top 12 Classical Dance category at Youth America Grand Prix - Houston Semi-Finals while training with Ms. Tina Kay Bohnstedt at TKB Center for Ballet Dance. Ms. Ohama also took the bronze medal at the World Ballet Art Competition Canada Grand Prix Finals and placed top 12 in the Classical Dance category at YAGP - Dallas Semi Final in 2019 and 2020. Ms. Ohama has been coached by Ms. Olga Pavlova while she attended the Ballet Academy of Texas. She also trained with Mr. Mihai Mezei, ballet master of the Opera House of Bucharest, Romania, Mr. Ayman Harper, choreographer and William Forsythe's stager, Mr. Dominic Walsh, former principal dancer of Houston Ballet, and a stager for Mr. Ben Stevenson, and Mr. Anton Romanov, artistic director at Alla Osipenko International Ballet Competition and International ballet master. In 2022, Ms. Ohama joined Ballet Frontier and performed various roles in Giselle, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, and Carmen. This is Ms. Ohama's second season with Ballet Frontier of Texas.
