Anna schmidt

Originally born in Florida, Anna grew up in the Kansas City area and began dancing at age 5. She trained for 10 years at The Culture House Academy of Performing Arts under Courtney Kierl-Bourman and Mona Störling Enna and later trained at Tulsa Ballet Center for Dance Education with Pia Russo. She spent one year in the Ballet Austin Butler Fellowship Program, before being invited to join Ballet Austin’s second company. While there, she enjoyed many opportunities to perform with the company and work with the artistic director, Stephen Mills. Later she joined Texas Ballet Theater as a trainee, where she performed in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella, Cleopatra, and Nutcracker as well as Will Tucket’s Pinnochio. She has also had the opportunity to perform in Stephen Mill’s Romeo and Juliet and Nutcracker,  Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie, and Thang Dao’s Quiet Imprint, and Paul Vasterling’s Peter Pan, and Jennifer Hart’s Murmuration, among others. During her training she attended intensive programs at Oklahoma City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Houston Ballet, Gelsey Kirkland Academy, Ballet Austin, and Texas Ballet Theater. Anna is excited for her first season with Ballet Frontier of Texas!
